Más Y Menos

This week we learned about using  sentences using the formula más and menos, which mean “more and less than”in Spanish, and are used to compare two unequal subjects . We used a different method in learned this formula. We used our ipods to look up a slide show that taught us this formula, the rules to it, and examples of it. Then we discussed about it in class and gave examples ourselves. Which was better than doing packets on it. Then we created a slide show on Animoto comparing pictures using the más, menos formula.

Estar Sentences

Today we reviewed over the word estar. Which means “to be”, and is used to comumicate ideas of health, emotion, and location. And for practice we’re writing four estar sentences for a picture.

Eminem està en el concierto. Èl està cantando un concíon. Èl està bailando en la plataforma. Èl està contento.

My First Semester Blogging Experience

I’ve had a great time  writing my blog, and I have learned that there is a difference im blogging and the type of communication I use on facebook or text messaging. I think embedding my work on my blog is a great way to show others what I have done, and when others comment on my blog post, depending on what the comment might be, it might help me widen my thoughts or correct an error that I missed on my blog. Blogging is a great skill to learn, it could help you communicate with someone in another town or give people information they may want to know about. And I would like to have a lot more blogging work in my Spanish class.

Mi Rutina Diaria

Lessons:

The last few weeks we’ve covered vocabulary and grammar structures dealing with our daily routines for getting ready to go somewhere. We learned about reflexive verbs, which indicates that the subject of the sentence has performed an action on itself,as in saying “I am brushing my hair” , I am brushing would be the reflexive verb.

My Voki:

This week we used our avatar from Voki to discuss our daily routine for getting ready for school. We first wrote a script of what we were going to to say in Spanish and then our teacher checked over our script and made us aware of any mistake we needed to corrected. After correcting the script of any errors and practicing pronunciation , we used our cellphones to record our daily routine script. Then the avatar with the recording was e-mailed to our teacher and embedded on our blog. It was our class project that counted as a six weeks test grade.

What I Think About Voki :

  • I really enjoyed using Voki and the avatar in this project.

  • It allowed me to practice my Spanish speaking skills.

  • Using the avatar for speech test is great because of being able to try more than once to get it right, rather than doing it bad and having to go with the grade.

  • It was a great way to learn how to speak Spanish properly.

Verb Tense Review

In the first semester of Spanish we learn about verb tenses and how to use them. Tener que is is used to say “to have to”, present tense verbs are normal verbs, and immediate future is “ir+a+infinitive” which is going to do something. I did a project on stixy where I uploaded pictures and wrote about them in Spanish using verb tenses.

Introduction

In the first six weeks in Spanish class we reviewed over the basic conversational skills of Spanish; introducing yourself, telling  time and greeting someone. This week in Spanish we created an avatar representing ourselves online telling people a little about ourselves and what we like to do.

This is my avatar:
